Among the standout schools were Key Biscayne K-8 Center and MAST Academy, both of which earned an “A” grade and continued to set the standard for educational achievement in the district.

The following are two distinguished local public schools that earned an “A” grade, located in the idyllic island of Key Biscayne nestled in Biscayne Bay:
- Key Biscayne K-8 Center: A highly-rated public school and the only elementary school in the island , with over 870 students from Pre-K to 8th grade and an 18:1 student-teacher ratio.
- MAST Academy: A magnet school located in Key Biscayne, FL, established in September 1991 with a long history of excellence. The school has over 1,530 students in grades 6-12 and a 21:1 student-teacher ratio. MAST Academy offers a full range of honors, AP, Cambridge (AICE), and Dual Enrollment courses. Residents of Key Biscayne receive priority for the magnet program for Middle School.
Other key statewide statistics show a positive trend.
The number of “A”rated schools rose by 6% to nearly 1,300, while schools receiving “D” or “F” grades decreased significantly.
Additionally, the proportion of schools earning “A” or “B” grades climbed to 64% from 57% the previous year.
